What is most important for muscle growth? Training or Diet?

James Flex Lewis Training Bodybuilding sometimes has a very fine art to it. In order to grow and increase muscle mass you have to balance both your diet and your training. Without training you can eat and eat but you won’t gain any muscle and without eating enough your stimulated muscles won’t have any fuel to grow.

How important is training for muscle growth?

This is quite obvious but without training nothing will happen, you will just end up fat. You need to train at least 5 times a week if you are a very serious bodybuilder. However what is not so obvious is that training is less important than your diet time wise. You should not really train for more than 45 minutes a day and only train 1-2 muscle groups per day. The rest of the time you should be resting your muscles. Muscles do not grow in the gym, they grow during rest.

How important is your diet for muscle growth?

Your diet is extremely important when it comes to bodybuilding. Eating just what you want is not good at all. Your diet is probably 60% of your muscle growth success. You will need a significant amount of protein according to your weight and will have to make sure you do not consume too much calories as this will make you gain fat. You can always take protein supplements when you cannot get in enough protein with food alone.

You cannot separate your diet and training when it comes to building muscle. They are both very important. Following a plan of not overtraining, eating a bodybuilding diet and resting will guarantee you muscle growth.
